It is seen that for decades together the lower strata of the society is struggling for survival and poverty coupled with deprivation and exploitation continuously weaken their socio-economic status. Illiteracy and ignorance is found to be predominant factors strengthening the vicious circle. But it is felt by all that, social progress and development is meaningless unless and until these poor are brought to the mainstream process. The perception of inequality and injustice oriented a group of young people of Dhenkanal to form a civil society organization. As an outcome, RASTRIYA GRAMANCHALA SEBA SAMITI shortly called RGSS was born and paves a path of hopes and confidence among deprives and under privileged. The most vulnerable groups are women and children, suffering much towards their social rights and privileges; minimum survival is opting to them, so also the environmental crisis spreads everywhere. Since its inception the organization is striving hard to reach the marginalized, disadvantaged people of rural villages with the goal to bring equality and justice and to transform the stratified society to an egalitarian society.
